Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Admissions and Records Assistant 3. This position will train, supervise, and monitor the work of the Admissions and Records Assistant 2 position as well as temporary hires, graduate assistants and student employees who work at the Physical Front Counter, Virtual Front Counter, and email help system under limited supervision with the ability to prioritize work and set deadlines. This position is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service to a diverse clientele of students, parents, and other University service providers.
This Admissions and Records Assistant 3 requires specialized knowledge of admissions and records policies, office procedures and processes and the ability to make decisions for problems for which there may be no clear-cut guidelines, decisions made at this level impact several work units of the institution and the quality of the services provided to our students, faculty, administrators, staff and the general public. As the central supervisor for the Front Counter (physical, virtual, and email), this position is responsible for maintaining the validity of information and training, as well as oversight of the in-person transactions that occur with students, faculty, staff, and external individuals on a daily basis

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of clerical experience, two (2) years of which was in a college admissions and/or records office or relevant student services area which included records maintenance, public/customer relations, evaluation of detailed information and documents, and the explanation of complex policies and procedures; OR
- One (1) year of experience as an Admissions & Records Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $22.13/hr. - Step 03 $24.02/hr.)
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
